Voices on the Wind Open Theme
Negatives by David Chorlton Photographs by Minor White I It is summer in the open fields and on the hills with shadows cast by clouds. Time is light here, and the moment is caught on its claw. II Stare at the poplars until they have no color but that of the life force inside them. Stare down the road leading to that goodbye whose mile marker says there is still far to go. III After the sky and the water, after the rock and the trees, when their light is like paper so dry it cracks at a touch; on the point of leaving you stop. Turn around. Already, it isnít black and white you remember, but in-between grays.
