Voices on the Wind Voices in Tribute
Mom’s Final Gift by Andrea Willaims Reed She’s in coma, in hospital, condition grave, decision needed. I was too often busy when she needed me— at weddings, birthdays, and graduations— but I showed up this time. Our relationship ebbed and flowed over long years. Often, her love smothered me, causing unintended pain. At times, she overpowered me, and I struggled to be free. As years matured us, appreciation deepened. During our vigil, family and close friends told of joys and happy seasons together. We prayed. I now realize how much I loved her— that her great gift was family and friends who came through for both of us.
