Voices on the Wind Voices on Waiting
Me Time by Kimberly Hardy I come here every other week The place where women gossip and meet To get a quick trim, wash, or blow dry While we sit and talk about “that” guy My appointment is always the same time But there seems to always be a line So I’m usually waiting an hour or so Watching the other ladies come and go As we chat about the latest dish I sit and wait in anguish Thinking about the errands I need to run And counting the ones I’ve already done When I finally get to the chair She makes a loud comment about my hair Saying, “What have you done to it lately?” I cry out, “I just bleached it, barely!” She shakes her head and gives a sigh And starts to trim, wash, and blow dry Relieved and relaxed from the daily grind Finally treating myself to some “me” time
