Math by Wilda Morris He’s been assigned to write a first-person story but finds it impossible to picture himself a hero, cleverly facing ordeals. History is mysterious to him; he doesn’t want to know how he got where he is. He holds his life in his hands as if it were a lined notebook full of scribbles and empty pages. He doodles his way through the day, never doing his math. Life just doesn’t add up.
