Birding at Ajo Golf Course by David Chorlton There’s just enough grass to play golf here. And water. Not much, but all it takes to make a habitat for thrashers, quail, and flickers. The greens are circles cut from desert. Par four for the hole, the smell of Sunday lunch drifting from the clubhouse while Lark sparrows flock in the shade and winter light seeps through the clouds to settle on the arid fairway.
